CHEM-CRETE PAVIX CCC100
A57 ROAD IMPROVEMENT SCHEME

The £30m A57 road improvement scheme included the construction of a bespoke 38 metre lifting bridge crossing the Manchester Shipping Canal, a rail over road bridge, and a road bridge over the Salteye Brook, together with other road infrastructure works connecting Junctions 10 and 11 of the M60 Motorway.

It also featured a new link into the A57 Liverpool Road, improving transportation links to the newly built Salford City Stadium and the neighbouring Trafford Centre.

The A57 Road Improvement Scheme forms part of the overall Salford Gateway project, which will transform a vacant degraded site, creating thousands of new jobs over its development lifespan and raising the area’s profile.

A Joint Venture between HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction and Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd, the contractors used Chem-Crete PAVIX CCC100 for surface protection.

Chem-Crete PAVIX CCC100 is a unique water-based product for permanent protection of concrete structures and other porous substrates against temperature and moisture associated problems, such as damage caused by freeze-thaw cycles and chloride ion penetration.

It keeps treated concrete reasonably dry, thus eliminates all water and moisture related deterioration.
